At a young age Dr. Black always felt a great deal of pride being able to help someone else.  His life’s work has focused on giving back to the community through the field of dentistry.  Dr. Black’s approach with all patients he serves is one of non-judgment and compassion.  He has a sincere desire for everyone to have the best possible treatment and to be cared for by a team who values quality care.

Dr. Black was born and raised in San Diego, California. He earned his bachelor’s degree with a major in Medical Biology from the University of Utah and graduated with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2005 from the University of Iowa.  Dr. Black joined the Commission Corp as an officer in the United States Public Health Service directly out of dental school and was honorably discharged after completing a 4-year contract.  His duty station was in Tuba City, providing hospital-based dentistry for Native Americans.  He found it to be an amazing cultural and professional experience.  Dr. Black had the pleasure of working and training with members of the Navajo and Hopi nations, military, U.S.P.H.S, specialists, and medical doctors on a routine basis.

Dr. Black has spent the last 15 years working with North Country Healthcare; a community health center in Flagstaff, Arizona.  He provided comprehensive care for people of all ages for Northern Arizona with a special interest in helping children and people with dental fear and anxiety.  He has been involved in several different community programs such as the Arizona Mission of Mercy, sponsoring local business(s), to coaching micro soccer.

Dr. Black lives in Tucson now with his 3 kids, wife, dog daisy, and cat Rio.  When not working he enjoys reading, exercising, cooking, and spending time with my family.

Dr. Black provides care to pediatric dental patients at United Community Health Center’s Dental Care for Kids.
