Dental Exams

Regular dental exams (every six months) are an important part of preventive dental care. During your child’s dental exam, the dentist or hygienist will discuss your child’s diet and oral hygiene habits. A dental exam for children includes checking the number of teeth, the bite, cavities, damage from dietary acids, gum infection, cheeks/palate/tongue/throat.

Tooth Removal

Removal of the tooth is needed when the decay is so big that it cannot be fixed with either a filling or a cap (crown). Also, there are times when the baby tooth does not fall out on its own and will need to be removed.

Dental Cleanings

Regular cleanings (at least every six months) are important to help prevent cavities and gum infection. At your child’s cleaning, we will teach him/her about how cavities happen and how to prevent them; we will show them how to brush and floss correctly; we will talk to him/her about a healthier diet and snacks; and we will remove any hard or soft deposits on their teeth that can contribute to disease.

Dental Emergencies

If your child is experiencing pain, swelling, or bleeding from an infection, injury, or any other cause, we will see your child that same day and get treatment started. For all patients who are registered with us, we have a dentist on call during all non-working hours.
